Posted on 30 Sep 2008 by fsk141 in:Well, I started writing some howto's for the howto's section. Maybe I can get some done. I also have been messing with a backup solution. I have a ton of music, and pictures that I would love to have backed up, and currently I dont have a solution. I would like offsite, and cheap. The solution:
Duplicity
Well kinda, I have been messing with it, and it seems great, but I will wait until I back some stuff up, and see how it deals with changes. As of now I'm uploading my music collection to an offsite backup. (my web server, where fsk141.com lives yay!) But I only have 80KB upload :( and 31GB to upload. I have about 80GB more in unlabeled flac's, but I'll worry about the 31GB of labeled music for now. Something that I found of awesomeness is google's ability to calculate how long it will take.
31GB/80KB/s in Google
I love google, so now I just have to wait for duplicity to finish in 4.70281481 days :) I will do a write up of the whole process when and if I like duplicity as a buckup solution.

Posted on 25 Sep 2008 by fsk141 in:So it seems like a vicious cycle, that I will stray from my blog to do less important things, then write... Meh Anywho here's some sweet things you should take a look at.

Dropbox
Rockbox 3.0
XBMC

Just a couple big things, dropbox is AMAZING, and rockbox release 3.0 is out. Also XBMC is out for every OS. :) Pretty big stuff. Also I'm working on a bittorrent tracker :) TBA
So I'm out and about, I'm at starbucks at the moment. Not for coffee of course, for free internet. Anywho, with the purchase of my new mini camera, I have been happy to take pictures of my surroundings, and document to the best of my ability what I did in the day. Not only so that I can recall, but also so that other people can take awe in what I see. Well today that's a little different. I went out to wall-mart I think like 3.5 Miles each way (There and back), got some Motor Oil & an Oil filter, and then stopped at starbucks (Where I am now). After riding all over the place I wish I would have brought my camera. Instead of waiting for the battery to charge, I just headed out the door. Oh well, so many cool things that, only I can see (Or rather pay attention to) I see so many great things around me, but only now do I take a little time to look at them. For example, when I would drive up to wall-mart; I could get there in a matter of minutes, as opposed to like 15-20 minutes on bicycle. Yet for all the extra time that I spend on riding my bicycle I make up for in personal awe. On the way back I saw one of the better sunsets/cloud cover that I have seen. And I totally miss not having my camera... Oh well, there will be another day. And for that other day I'll post pictures...
Pictures yay!

Post some Sismic Comments!!!, otherwise do it the old fashion way, and leave a text comment...
Finally this beast is all killed and cooked up. It took a lot of time due to Christian finishing up school, me starting work, and finishing school; but it's finally done. Check it out, there are some really neat images on the site. Let me know what you think. I coded the whole site with no intentions of using flash, and achieved a beautiful and functional site. Check out the 'Projects' Gallery. There are some really neat long photos that look great with the photo viewer. Anywho drop a line and tell me what you think. And check out the portfolio page if you would like a little more information about the site.
Posted on 13 Jun 2008 by fsk141 in: Fsk141 BackendI've spent hours yesterday and today working on the backend to the site. I was working on making the site all up to par, and making it W3C valid. I ended up taking the task of making it XHtml 1.0 Strict, which was a ton of work, but I guess it's cool. It's the newest standard, and I feel special. I first tried XHtml 1.1, and validate against it, yet I needed to change some mime type crap, and decided to just go with 1.0. I spent a ton of time working on this for the homepage, yet haven't followed suit with all the other pages. It should only take another hour or so to finish it up on all the pages, yet I think I will make myself a little php template system before I go and make all the pages validated. Currently I'm using some modular php snippets for the site. I have multiple php includes that include the different static sections of the site. I hope to have a fully modular site in the future, and might end up making a php backend so that I can edit one place, and add new pages and whatnot?
